A friend, an established award-winning author, has a special on Amazon for her most recent book- (free on Amazon the next few days).  If you like zombies and science fiction, you might want to check out this book.

The book:  "The Robusta Incident"  by Jennifer Fales.

The special:

For zombie apocalypse aficionados, The main character, Howard Danishefsky, much like Howard Beale of "Network" fame, is fed up and is not going to take it any more.  Howard  D.  chemist for the Robusta Corp, proceeds to create a special coffee blend, hence the story name.

Deep in the aroma of "political correctness" that many people "buy in" to as "best practices" in corporate America (as you have to "pay to play" in the "big sandbox", yet detest to the bottom of your "core values", yet find yourselves leveraging against, Jennifer has a knack for putting into words those thoughts you whisper to yourselves, yet fear to vocalize because you still pretend to "drink the Kool-Aid" from 9 to 5.

This story is a well-written 'escape' for those of you who have ever had a toxic boss, back-stabbing coworker, or other office problem child to contend with.

Background:

Jennifer is a former fellow commuter on the Southern California commuter train network, who has recently broken the corporate yoke to become a full-time author.

I have spent a few years, as a fellow commuter, chatting, sharing interests in books, movies, quantum mechanics, science fiction, famous movie quotes and other philosophical sarcasms about life in general. I have to say that in reading her books,  she creates a visual imagery that is unique.

As a scientist, reading and writing is always one of my professional skills and responsibilities, as I must spend lots of time reading and wordsmithing patents, product literature, contracts and other technical documents and also have to communicate concisely on an international basis. It's >75% of my job, therefore, it takes a lot for me to say "Read This Book".

Why? Jennifer's ability to combine words is amazing.  (A read-gasm as it were).

Partake and Enjoy.  You will not regret it. Your cost: less social networking time!
